So you are expecting another baby, how exciting! Perhaps you did an NCT course last time and are looking for something similar. This may be your second, third baby or more but it is good to take time out to prepare for their arrival. You want this experience to feel different – to be more informed, more supported, and even more positive
What will you get from joining one of my Antenatal Refresher courses?
A chance to reflect on your previous birth experience with a view to planning for the next one.
A good understanding of the choices available to you and the decisions you can make (not always the same thing!)
A review of the birth process itself:
- What you can do to increase the chance of a straightforward vaginal birth
- How to minimise the risk of assisted birth
- Pain management, what is available, and self-help, including Hypnobirthing techniques
- Caesarean birth, both planned (elective) and unexpected/unplanned.
- Feeding this baby – will it be different this time?
PLUS a host of practical strategies to prepare your older child/children for the birth of this baby.
Suggestions for discussion points to take back to your partner.
Most importantly, you will get to connect even more with THIS baby, and to make time for YOU.
The course
The course consists of 3 weekday morning sessions for you, held in the comfort of my home in Southfields, 3 minutes’ walk from Southfields Tube station.
A few weeks after your babies have been born we will meet up one morning, to catch up and to see if there are any further resources that I can signpost you to. These are always a lovely feature of my Antenatal Refresher courses in the past with NCT – so often we heard the birth experiences have been SO different, so much more straightforward. Do be aware that you are entitled to paid time off during your pregnancy and this course will count as an essential part of your preparation.
The fee is £185, payable on booking.
